Sometimes the smallest landscapes are the most extraordinary.

On Flores Island in the Azores water is an inseparable part of the landscape.

Rain.

Mist.

Waterfalls.

Lakes.

And sometimes something as small as a single drop suspended from a blade of grass.

Here the camera moves away from the sweeping landscapes normally associated with the islands and enters a far more intimate world.

Tiny spheres of water cling precariously to slender stems.

Each one catches the available light differently.

Some appear almost transparent.

Others glow against the surrounding darkness.
