Driving back to Cape Town from Hermanus earlier last month, I came across the Houw Hoek Inn completely by accident. My bladder was on the verge of bursting, and there was no petrol station in sight. I noticed the hotel from the road, and made a slight detour because I couldn't hold it in anymore (Blush!)
I was pleasantly surprised by its beauty and location. This is one of SA's oldest hotels and is situated in the heart of the Kogelberg Biosphere Nature Reserve. They are positioned between mountains, oak trees and meandering streams, and has a little lake filled with waterlilies on their premises.
