Your story deserves to be told with a heartfelt attention to detail - beyond just closeup photos of decor and flattering portraits, but with breathtaking glimpses into memories that would otherwise fade.

Our Style

Because no two weddings or couples are alike, your wedding images and video should reflect who you really are, your true character and personality, and must also capture the special beauty and essence of your very own day.

 artistic and intimate in nature.

How long have you been in business for? How many weddings have you photographed?
We began our business in 2013 and have photographed over 100 weddings!

My fiancé is uncomfortable having his picture taken. How can you help him on the wedding day?
We are very calm, mellow people who tend to blend into the scene rather than bring attention to ourselves and our cameras. That, combined with our documentary style, will have you both used to us within the first half-hour of your getting-ready time. Most couples tell us it felt like we were just one of the gang, hanging out with everyone. The only time you’ll really be aware of the cameras is during the family group photo and the creative portraits, and during this time we will guide you through everything. You can just be yourselves, and we will take care of the rest.

Couples We Love

We just love couples who live life to its fullest and are incurable romantics. They are able to let go and be fully immersed in the moment.

Couples that give us space and trust us enough to capture the real beauty and essence of their timeless stories with emphasis on their personalities.

Before the Wedding

Cinematic and creative storytelling.

Why should I hire you?

Because we care about you. We care about your wedding. We care to make art that represents who you are as a couple and as individuals, and we want the world to see the love, passion, spark, joy, and intimacy that you find in each other.

We can’t help but feel honoured when people choose us as their preferred wedding suppliers. Getting married is one of the biggest events in your life and you really want it to be a memorable occasion. Our team of professionals really understand this, and we strive to make your weddings fun, but also beautiful works of art that you can treasure forever more....

Why is wedding photography so expensive?

It is true, wedding photography is a costly affair. I will try to explain why. Have you ever thought what is the price of a wedding photographer may include? Professionals use the highest quality equipment, materials and labs. For example, our cameras and lenses costs tens of thousands of CHF and need to be maintained and/or replaced regularly. Same as high powered computers, external drives and memory cards. As wedding photography is a highly skilled job, it requires the years of training and experience. For that we have to attend different workshops and masterclasses that are not cheap as well. You may only see your photographer for 10-15 hours before, during and after the wedding but this is usually a small part of the total time  spent in creating your beautiful images. We spent hours, days or even weeks, editing, processing and retouching pictures, custom designing album layouts, preparing and manipulating photos for printing etc. The total time spent may end up being excess of 50-70 hours.

How far in advance do I need to reserve my date?

My best advice is to reserve your date as soon as you know that you want me to be your photographer for your event. With limited availability certain dates book up very far in advance. A 50% deposit with a signed agreement is required to secure your date.

How many weddings a year do you take?I want to be fully present at every job and find that if I vary the type of work I do and limit the amount of weddings I shoot, it keeps me fresh and inspired. We limit ourselves to 25 per year.

The samples on your website look great. Are these just lucky shots from Your weddings?

These are my favourite images. I always push myself to provide consistent results and believe all my wedding images look like that – this is one of the benefits of hiring an experienced professional wedding photographer. During our meeting I would be happy to show album samples from full weddings.

Do you shoot Destination Weddings?
Absolutely! We love to travel and experience new venues, cities, states, and countries. We have already knocked a few states off our list and would love to shoot a wedding in all fifty!

Have you shot at our venue previously?

Perhaps! There are thousands of wedding venues in and around Chicago. If we haven’t shot at your particular venue, no worries at all. We’ll always scout the best locations for portraits, bridal party shots, and sunset photos beforehand.

Do you need to attend our rehearsal? Do you need to do a venue walk through?
While it is not necessary to have us at the rehearsal to ensure a flawless wedding day, we can attend any additional wedding celebrations (showers, engagement parties, rehearsals) for an additional hourly charge.

How much coverage will we need on our wedding day? For most of our couples, 8 hours of coverage is a perfect starting point. This typically covers some of the getting ready shots all the way through about an hour of guest dancing at the reception. Sometimes there are reasons to add more coverage - if you are having a longer religious ceremony, if there are long travel times between venues, or if there is a large amount of time between the ceremony and reception. We can discuss these details and let you know what we think will be the best fit for you when we initially meet.

We have downtime between the ceremony and reception, does this count in the number of hours booked?
Hours of coverage are continuous. We often use this time to capture portraits, and details.

What's a 'First Look' and do we need one? A first look happens when the couple sees each other before walking down the aisle. Doing a first look allows us more time in the beginning of the day to capture most if not all of your portraits before the ceremony. This allows our couples to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests. We understand that this is this is such a personal choice and completely understand our couples who wish to have a more traditional down the aisle reveal. Whichever you choose, we will be sure to help you make a wedding day timeline that best suits your preference.

Do you deliver every image you take?

Together, we typically shoot thousands of photos on a wedding day. We do not deliver any pictures where we are testing our light, we are changing our settings, the subject is making an unflattering face, or it is not up to our standards of photographic quality. We do however typically deliver 100+ images an hour on a wedding day.

Do you edit all of our photographs?
We edit all the images we deliver personally for correct exposure, color balance, and crop. All images that will be delivered will be no less than the excellent standard seen on our portfolios and blog.

Do you deliver Black and White Images?
We love classic black & white images. Sometimes certain moments and emotions lend themselves to a beautiful B&W image. Don’t worry - we will also send along the color copy of every B&W as well.

Is it important to have a second shooter on the day?

While a single photographer can capture your day, we strongly advise having a second shooter to ensure no incredible moments are missed. While one focuses on the father of the bride’s speech for example, the other can focus on reactions from the bride or guests, thus creating a more compelling story of your day. Further while I’m primarily a photojournalist, and will quietly be candidly capturing moments and people, the second photographer will be doing a bit more of regular and formal photography, and this means you’ll end up with an amazing collection of different images to choose from.

Having two photographers provide more photos, more candids, and more coverage of all the wedding day fun. In the morning, Marc will be able to capture the guys hanging out with all their antics and hijinks - Mindy will be chatting it up with all the ladies as they ooh and ah over the dress and all the beautiful details. When you walk down the aisle, Mindy will be capturing that special moment with you and your father (or special someone) while Marc is capturing an epic shot of your wedding dress train from behind.

Can other guests take photographs at our wedding?

We are living in the world of smartphones and we are totally fine with it.

Ideally, guests just need to make sure they don’t cause any form of disruption on the day, or hinder our ability to capture your special memories. What we mean by this is we are happy if they wonder about taking images without preventing us from doing the same.

What if it rains on our wedding day?
Oh.. the dreaded word on a wedding day. Sometimes mother nature has plans other than 25 degrees and sunny. If that is the case, we will be sure to be in contact with you in the days leading up to the wedding so we can ensure we have a plan B prepared.

A little rain has never stopped us before from producing beautiful wedding day images.

What happens if you can't shoot our wedding?
We have been shooting weddings for 13 years and have not missed one yet, nor do we plan to. You have placed your trust in us and we keep that trust in the highest regard.

If there were an emergency where we could not be there, we would send an equally talented replacement to photograph the event, and still edit the photographs as if we had attended this. A scenario like this will only take place in an absolute emergency.

What do you wear to photograph our wedding?
We pride ourselves on dressing like a guest and blending into your wedding day. First impressions matter, so you won't find us dressing in jeans with sneakers on.

What type of camera equipment do you use?
We use professional Canon camera equipment. We also have back up equipment with us on a wedding day to ensure we don’t miss a beat if there is an equipment mishap.

How can we ensure our wedding images are safe and backed up?
We understand how devasting it can be to loose images. In fact, it was an event like this that made us move over to digital in the first place. Years back we attended an International Motorcross Championship when we where still using film cameras. It was an unpaid event that we were really passionate about. When it came down to developing the images the reel of film tore into pieces. We lost all the images without any fault on our parts.

Since then we have moved over to digital and have tried every effort to ensure the safety of our digital files. We meticulously back up images when we get home from an event and always ensure we back up the images, not in one location, but also to a secondary location off-site location.

You can rest assured that we do every effort on our parts to protect all of your images.

Timeless and effortless elegance.

Engagement Sessions

What’s an engagement session? Should I do it?

You should absolutely do it!!

These sessions are relaxed and fun giving you an opportunity to get to know us as well as learning how to be in front of a camera. It gives us an opportunity to get to know you before the big day. The more we know each other, the more natural, organic, and candid your wedding photos will be. We teach you everything you need to know at your engagement session so when the wedding day comes around, all you have to do is enjoy yourselves!

How long will my engagement session be?
Engagement sessions typically last about 1.5 hours - time really flies by when we are having so much fun.

Where and when will the pre-wedding/engagement session take place?

It’ll normally take place at a location that holds some special meaning to you, or at one of our preferred venues.

Most of our couples schedule engagement sessions 6-8 months before their wedding date so that they may use the images for save the date cards or on their wedding websites. But we are open to booking sessions even a week before.

Will you travel for engagement sessions as well?
We are happy to come to your town or meet you at a fabulous destination of your choice. Please contact us for specific information.

What days of the week are you available to shoot our engagement session?

After your wedding date is reserved we will start planning your engagement session. Typically, since we usually shoot weddings on weekends, we photograph engagement sessions on both a Wednesday and Thursday during golden hours.

Although, depending on the date, we may have a weekend day available.

How many images are delivered from our engagement session?
On average 20 to 80 images are delivered from your engagement session, depending on your package booked.

When can we expect to see photos from our engagement sessions?
Approximately 2-3 weeks after your engagement session your images will be sent to you via our online gallery.

Can we just hire you for the engagement session?
Absolutely! If you have just gotten engaged and haven’t decided on a wedding date or venue as yet, we can absolutely just book you on an engagement session.

If you decide to choose us to capture your wedding as well, we will put your engagement session investment, towards your wedding collection package.

Payment & Bookings

I want to hire you! Now what?

Well, that’s awesome! Let us know as soon as possible all your wedding details and we’ll start generating your wedding contract. You can do so either telephonically or via email.

Can you hold the date for me?

Wedding dates are reserved on a first come first serve basis. Although we cannot reserve a wedding date without a contract and retainer, we will be happy to let you know if any other couples inquire about the same date.

What is required to reserve our wedding date?

A signed contract and a 50% retainer are required to save your date. All of this can be completed online and over email.

Do you charge travel fees?

Yes. We love to travel, but we can’t afford to do that without charging extra. Depending on the time and distance, this may include a small “per km” rate, or even as much as a few nights in a hotel and/or flights.

It really comes down to what you want, where, and when. The really great news is that, by hiring us, you get a great price on exporting high quality to incredible places around the world.

Travel fees also apply to weddings that take place outside of Zurich City.

What is your payment schedule?

On booking, we require a 50% non-refundable retainer to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance is due 7 days prior to your wedding.

Are sales tax included in the collection cost?

Yes! We like to keep it simple - the price is the price.

Do you offer any discounts for weddings taking place on a Friday or weddings taking place out of season?
We are so fortunate to be at a place of our business where we are able to fully book to our capacity each wedding season. For this reason, we do not offer a discount for wedding collections.

We do however offer hourly coverage for city hall elopements.  Contact Us for details.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once you have signed the contract and paid your 50% deposit, we will book the date for you only and will not accept other events for that day. For this reason, your deposit is non-refundable.

Do you book yourself for more than one wedding per day?

Sometimes we’ll book more than one wedding in a weekend, but never more than one event per photographer per day.

What happens if we go over the contracted amount of time?

We understand that not all weddings run according to the planned schedule. In this case, if we are available, we will gladly stay a few extra hours to ensure that you have complete coverage of your wedding day.

An invoice will be sent to you after the wedding for the additional hourly rate as stated in your contract. We request any overtime invoices be paid before final delivery of images.

After the Wedding

How long does it take to receive my professionally enhanced images?

Our typical turnaround for the delivery of your wedding images is anything from 6 to 8 weeks. You are probably wondering why it takes that long. Let us explain...

In an effort to master the quality of images we deliver, we take charge of the entire production processes ourselves. As a result, we personally sort through and edit each and every photograph that we deliver. We fix certain imperfections and colors. We adjust what’s needed to make sure the images not only look amazing but offer the same sort of consistency throughout.

Engagement photographs take a lot less time, usually around 2 weeks. This is because we provide fewer images, so the entire process goes a lot faster.

Do you offer an express service delivery on images?

Yes! We have started implementing an express service that will allow you to receive your wedding images sooner. At an additional cost, of course.

And although we are providing them to you sooner, it doesn't mean that we are compromising on the final quality, it just means that we would gladly work throughout the evenings, to deliver them to you as quickly as possible. The additional cost compensates us for working in the evenings.

Contact us if you are looking for just a few sneak peeks, or would like to have all your images delivered within a min of 1 week.

How are our images delivered?

After your engagement session or wedding, your high-resolution images will be delivered via our private Shootproof online gallery. These images can be downloaded, saved, printed and shared. All of your friends and family that you share the gallery link with will also have the same privileges. In some cases we provide an email address access, to restrict the number of downloads you allow your guests.

How many wedding images do you deliver?
Although we take tons of images during a wedding day, we narrow these down to 500 to 700 "best of the days"
depending on the package you booked.

Are digital files watermarked?
No way! The only time we watermark the images is if we are uploading them to our social channels for our own marketing purposes.

How does the album design process work?
If you have chosen to add an album to your wedding collection, congratulations!

Besides your wedding rings, you are creating one of your first family heirlooms to be passed down for generations to come. After your wedding images have been delivered, we will begin designing your album all the way from the front to the back cover and every page in between.

We will then provide you with a link to review. During the review period, you will be able to make basic swop outs of images, as long as the original design doesn't change.

We include 2 rounds of revisions in your album design. If you would like to request further changes we would gladly do so at an additional fee.

Once you are happy with your final revision, we will discuss available upgrade options for size and cover type. As well as if you would like to add additional parent albums to your order. Once your order has been finalized - it goes off to print.

Our album company will return your finished product in approximately 9-12 weeks. Then we schedule a time to meet so we can deliver your beautiful family heirloom.

How many photographs make a great wedding album?

We normally choose between 100 to 120 pictures for a standard 30-page album. However, if you need more than 120 images, it may be advisable to increase the number of album pages.

If we have a hard time cutting down all your amazing images, we will provide recommendations on whether or not we think you would require additional pages.

Can I order prints?

Yes! We love to see our couples flaunt their wedding photos as artworks in their homes.

Ordering prints is easy. In fact, you can order these right from your online gallery. Your gallery is tied to our favorite professional print lab!

This way we know our print lab will provide you with the best quality print products. Prints, canvases, albums, etc can all be ordered online. Friends and family can also order prints and have them shipped directly to their houses.

Copyright & Ownership

Who owns the copyright of the images?

We retain the artistic copyright of our images. However, you will have personal rights to allow you to print, share, and download all of your images.

Please contact us if your wedding venue or wedding suppliers would like to use the images for their personal marketing. In some cases, we charge a small fee or request that appropriate credit be given.
